God

“God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in spirit and in truth.” –Jesus (John 4:24)

We believe in God. (Psalm 14:1)

We believe in the God, not simply a generic concept of god or a nameless universal “God”. We believe in the particular God identified through the Bible: the God of the Apostles, Israel, Moses, Abraham, Noah, Adam & Eve, etc. (Exodus 3:6) This God is the only true and living god. (Deuteronomy 6:4; Isaiah 44:6) All others gods and concepts of “God” are false; more so, they are created and empowered by Satan and the demonic realm.

We believe that God is a living, thinking and loving being. He possesses a personality and a will that reasons and selects His desires.

We believe that God always existed, exists today and will continue to exist forever. He transcends time; He had no beginning and will have no end.

We believe that God is all-powerful. There is no limit to His ability to create. He causes things to exist from nothing. It is by His sustaining power that all things created continue to exist.

We believe that God uniquely can be present in more then one place at a time. He does not divide Himself; where God is singularly present the fullness of God is also present, not merely a part of God.

We believe that God’s nature is triune, that is to say, He has three distinct “faces”, “aspects” or “persons”. We know these three “persons” as: “The Father”, “The Son” and “The Holy Spirit” or “Holy Ghost”. (See our doctrinal statement on “The Trinity” for more information.)

We believe that God is all-seeing and all-knowing. Although He sees and knows all things regarding His creation, He does not determine the outcome of all things; He has endowed His creation with a level of choice, free will or free agency.

We believe that God is “holy”, that is to say, 100% pure, perfect or incorruptible. He does not sin; that is to say, He does not go against His own will and decrees. Additionally, God does not tempt or cause others to sin. God is righteous and just; He is repulsed by sinful behavior.

We believe that God’s greatest attribute is His love. His love is a “giving” love. His love goes even further by being sacrificial, giving of Himself so that others may benefit. He desires only the best for His creation, particularly for man. (1 Kings 8:60)

Exodus 3:6

Then he said, “I am the God of your father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob.” At this, Moses hid his face, because he was afraid to look at God.

Deuteronomy 6:4

Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one.

1 Kings 8:60

…so that all the peoples of the earth may know that the Lord is God and that there is no other.

Psalm 14:1

The fool says in his heart, “There is no God.”

Isaiah 44:6

“This is what the Lord says - Israel's King and Redeemer, the Lord Almighty: I am the first and I am the last; apart from me there is no God.”

The Trinity

Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, in our likeness…” (Genesis 1:26)

We believe that God is triune (Latin for three in one) in His nature. (Genesis 1:26; Isaiah 6:3) This nature of God is expressed in the form of three "aspects", "faces" or "persons"; namely, The Father, The Son and the Spirit. (Matthew 28:9) All three "persons" are eternal, all-powerful, all present and all knowing.

We believe that God the Father and God the Spirit are spiritual in nature; simply put, their physical makeup transcends our concept of the material universe. God the Son, Jesus Christ, from eternity past was spiritual in nature; however, upon His coming to earth, He has taken on the additional nature of humanness. He is now God and man in His physical makeup.

We believe that the triune nature of God should not be understood as there being three Gods; God is one. The triune nature of God also should not be understood as God being subdivided into three portions, parts or divisions; God is indivisible. (Deuteronomy 6:4)

We believe that all three "persons" of the triune God are equal in magnitude, but yet, distinct in identity. The terms "Father" and "Son" do not express a senior and junior relationship, but rather a relationship of equality. Their only variance is expressed through various differences in their ministry towards humanity. (2 Corinthians 13:14)

We believe that all of the fullness of the triune God is expressed through The Son: Jesus Christ. (John 10:30; Philippians 2:5-11; Colossians 2:9)

Genesis 1:26

Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, in our likeness…”

Deuteronomy 6:4

“Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one.”

Isaiah 6:3

And they were calling to one another: “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord Almighty; the whole earth is full of his glory.”

Matthew 28:19

“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit…” -Jesus

John 10:30

“I and the Father are one.” -Jesus

2 Corinthians 13:14

May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all.

Philippians 2:5-11

Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus: [6] Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped, [7] but made himself nothing, taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. [8] And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself and became obedient to death - even death on a cross! [9] Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, [10] that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, [11] and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

Colossians 2:9

“For in Christ all the fullness of the Deity lives in bodily form …”

Other illustrations from everyday living can also partially help to express the understanding of the triune nature of God. The substance of water can be present in three forms: a liquid (water), a solid (ice) and a gas (steam). In all three forms water continues to be one substance: water. The government of the United States is represented through three branches: the executive, the legislative and the judicial. Although distinct in nature, all three branches are intertwined with each other; the three form one government. Even the simplicity of a three part clover leaf illustrates the concept of a complex composition being one.

Still confused? Know this: Jesus Christ is the Lord!

John 14:6-9

[6] Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. [7] If you really knew me, you would know my Father as well. From now on, you do know him and have seen him.” [8] Philip said, “Lord, show us the Father and that will be enough for us.” [9] Jesus answered: “Don't you know me, Philip, even after I have been among you such a long time? Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father. How can you say, ‘Show us the Father’?”

The following graphics help illustrate the triune nature of the one and only God.

 Spirit, e

The Father

And by him we cry, “Abba, Father.” (Romans 8:15)

We believe in God the Father.

We believe that God the Father is one "person" of the triune God, coequal with The Son and The Spirit. His title of "Father" does not represent superiority over God the Son and God the Spirit, but rather equality with them. He cannot be separated from either.

We believe that God the Father is by composition spirit. His form is beyond our ability to fully comprehend. His presence is so powerful and pure that we are incapable of standing before Him and surviving.

We believe that God the Father is eternal, all-powerful, all knowing and all-present (capable of being present in more than one place at a time).

We believe that God the Father resides with God the Son, Jesus Christ, in an abode that is beyond our universe. He communicates with humanity through God the Spirit. (See: “What We Believe About…” The Holy Spirit.)

We believe that God the Father's chief ministries are: The sustainment of creation, (particularly the empowerment of life to continue), the source and provider of knowledge and wisdom and the gracious providing of a way for humanity to be saved from sin, death and hell. God the Father’s loving ministry of salvation is exclusively provided through God the Son, Jesus Christ. (See: “What We Believe About…” Jesus Christ and The Trinity.)

Jeremiah 31:9

They will come with weeping; they will pray as I bring them back. I will lead them beside streams of water on a level path where they will not stumble, because I am Israel's father, and Ephraim is my firstborn son.

John 14:8, 9

Philip said, “Lord, show us the Father and that will be enough for us.” [9] Jesus answered: “Don't you know me, Philip, even after I have been among you such a long time? Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father. How can you say, ‘Show us the Father’?”

 2 Corinthians 6:18

“I will be a Father to you, and you will be my sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty.”

1 John 3:1

How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him.

Jesus Christ

“…and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins.” (Matthew 1:21)

    We believe in Jesus Christ.

We believe that Jesus Christ has two distinct natures: deity and human. He is fully God and yet fully man. He is not two persons, but rather one person with two dimensions. As deity Jesus Christ is co-equal with God the Father and God the Spirit; as a man, He is fully human, possessing a body, spirit and soul. Being in fact God, Jesus Christ always existed; He had no beginning, nor was He created as some would think. He will have no end. (John 1:1, 2; 14:8, 9; Matthew 8:20; Mark 1:1)

We believe that, as God the Son, Jesus came to this earth and became united with human flesh. He was born of Mary who was in fact a virgin at the time of Jesus’ human conception within her womb. His conception within her womb was a supernatural event wrought by God; God the Son was united with human flesh. Joseph (Mary’s husband) served Jesus on earth simply as a foster father; Mary served as a foster mother. (After the birth of Jesus Christ, Mary and Joseph had children conceived and born in the conventional way.) (Read Luke chapters 1 and 2.)

We believe that Jesus’ physical appearance during His earthly ministry was plain and unassuming; from a human perspective, He did not look the part of the Messiah. The Bible makes no other references to Jesus’ appearance except for the fact He had a beard. (Isaiah 50:6; 53:1-3)

We believe that Jesus Christ came to the earth for the sole purpose of providing a way for humans to be saved from sin, death and hell. He also provided the means of salvation by offering His own life as a substitute recipient of God’s wrath and punishment towards our sins. He suffered and died in the equal measure for the sins of each and every human born and yet to be born. (Isaiah 53:4-6, 10-12; John 1:29; Luke 24:7)

We believe that Jesus Christ was crucified on a Roman cross as recorded in the Biblical accounts. He died, was entombed and then was bodily resurrected back to life. Jesus Christ bodily ascended back to be with God the Father where He currently dwells.

We believe that Jesus Christ will return from His current dwelling twice: first to the earth’s sky to remove believers from the earth (the event known as the rapture of the Church) and then later to the earth itself to take charge of it (the event known as the second coming of Jesus Christ). In the end, Jesus Christ will rule for eternity in the new heaven and earth to come. (Revelation 19:16) (Read Revelation chapters 21 and 22.)

I

Isaiah 50:6

I offered my back to those who beat me, my cheeks to those who pulled out my beard; I did not hide my face from mocking and spitting.

Isaiah 53:1-3

Who has believed our message and to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed? [2] He grew up before him like a tender shoot, and like a root out of dry ground. He had no beauty or majesty to attract us to him, nothing in his appearance that we should desire him. [3] He was despised and rejected by men, a man of sorrows, and familiar with suffering. Like one from whom men hide their faces he was despised, and we esteemed him not.

Isaiah 53:4-6, 10-12

Surely he took up our infirmities and carried our sorrows, yet we considered him stricken by God, smitten by him, and afflicted. [5] But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon him, and by his wounds we are healed. [6] We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to his own way; and the Lord has laid on him the iniquity of us all. [10] Yet it was the Lord's will to crush him and cause him to suffer, and though the Lord makes his life a guilt offering, he will see his offspring and prolong his days, and the will of the Lord will prosper in his hand. [11] After the suffering of his soul, he will see the light of life and be satisfied; by his knowledge my righteous servant will justify many, and he will bear their iniquities. [12] Therefore I will give him a portion among the great, and he will divide the spoils with the strong, because he poured out his life unto death, and was numbered with the transgressors. For he bore the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.

Matthew 8:20

Jesus replied, “Foxes have holes and birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man has no place to lay his head.”

Mark 1:1

Luke 24:7

“‘The Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, be crucified and on the third day be raised again.’” -Jesus

John 1:1, 2

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. [2] He was with God in the beginning.

John 1:29

The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said, “Look, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!”

Revelation 19:16

On his robe and on his thigh he has this name written: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS.

The Holy Spirit

“When the Counselor comes, whom I will send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth who goes out from the Father, he will testify about me.” -Jesus (John 15:26)

We believe in God the Holy Spirit. (He is sometimes referred to as God the “Holy Ghost”.)

We believe that God the Holy Spirit is one “person” of the triune God, coequal with The Father and The Son. His title of “Spirit” does not represent inferiority to God the Father and God the Son, but rather equality with them. He cannot be separated from either. (Genesis 1:26-27; Job 33:4; 2 Corinthians 13:14)

We believe that God the Holy Spirit is by composition spirit. His form is beyond our ability to fully comprehend. (John 4:24)

We believe that God the Spirit is an intelligent thinking and loving being. He is not an inanimate “force” of God; He is not an “it”, He is a person.

We believe that God the Spirit is eternal, all-powerful, all-knowing and all-present (capable of being present in more than one place at a time).

We believe that currently, God the Holy Spirit chiefly dwells here on this planet serving the will of God the Father and God the Son.

We believe that God the Spirit’s chief ministries are: impressing upon unbelievers that they are hell-bound sinners in need of salvation (Isaiah 63:10), indwelling inside of believers to provide spiritual sustainment and direction concerning holy living (John 14:7; Galatians 5:22, 23) and providing unity between believers and God as well as unity within the community of believers. (Acts 9:31; 2 Peter 1:21)

Genesis 1:26, 27

Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, in our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, over all the earth, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.” [27] So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.

Job 33:4

The Spirit of God has made me; the breath of the Almighty gives me life.

Isaiah 63:10

et they rebelled and grieved his Holy Spirit. So he turned and became their enemy and he himself fought against them.

John 4:24

“God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in spirit and in truth.” -Jesus

John 14:7

“If you really knew me, you would know my Father as well. From now on, you do know him and have seen him.” -Jesus

Acts 9:31

Then the church throughout Judea, Galilee and Samaria enjoyed a time of peace. It was strengthened; and encouraged by the Holy Spirit, it grew in numbers, living in the fear of the Lord.

the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all.

Galatians 5:22-23

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, [23] gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.

2 Peter 1:21

For prophecy never had its origin in the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.

The Bible

Then I said, “Here I am, I have come - it is written about me in the scroll.” -God (Psalm 40:7)

We believe that God has communicated His thoughts to humanity through the media of written text. (2 Timothy 3:16)  This written text is so illustrative of God’s love and will towards humanity that God has taken the title “Word” as a personal name for Himself.  (John 1:1)

We believe that the written text of the God’s will is exclusively represented within the sixty-six “books” that are contained in today’s Bible.  These “books” are: Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, Deuteronomy, Joshua, Judges, Ruth, 1 Samuel, 2 Samuel, 1 Kings, 2 Kings, 1 Chronicles, 2 Chronicles, Ester, Nehemiah, Ester, Job, Psalm, Proverbs, Ecclesiastes, Song of Solomon, Isaiah, Jeremiah, Laminations, Ezekiel, Daniel, Hosea, Joel, Amos, Obadiah, Jonah, Micah, Nahum, Habakkuk, Zephaniah, Haggai, Zechariah, Malachi, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts, Romans, 1 Corinthians, 2 Corinthians, Galatians, Ephesians, Philippians, Colossians, 1 Thessalonians, 2 Thessalonians, 1 Timothy, 2 Timothy, Titus, Philemon, Hebrews, James, 1 Peter, 2 Peter, 1 John, 2 John, 3 John, Jude and Revelation.

We believe that the written text within the Bible has been kept error free and intact by God; it is perfect and complete.    All other supposed written communications from God are human works of deception, inspired by Satan.  (2 Peter 2:21, Revelation 22:18, 19)

We believe that God has uniquely empowered the text of the Bible by His Holy Spirit’s presence along side of it.  Wherever God’s written words are, God is also there to impress them and their meaning upon the consciousness and heart of the listener.  (Deuteronomy 30:14, Isaiah 55:11, Hebrews 4:12)

We believe that the primary purposes of God’s written text is: to reveal Himself to mankind, to reveal to humanity its sin and personal need of salvation from sin and also to provide a practical guide on living holy lives for those who have become saved.  (We believe the Bible contains all of the necessary information needed for salvation and holy living.)

We do not adhere to a specific translation of the Bible, although we do recognize the fact that there are spurious translations of the Bible present in the world today.  Prayerful and diligent attention should be paid to the accuracy of any and all translations used by believers.

Deuteronomy 30:14

No, the word is very near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart so you may obey it.

Isaiah 55:11

…so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.

John 1:1

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

 2 Timothy 3:16

All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness,

 Hebrews 4:12

For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.

2 Peter 2:21

It would have been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than to have known it and then to turn their backs on the sacred command that was passed on to them.

 Revelation 22:18-21

I warn everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: If anyone adds anything to them, God will add to him the plagues described in this book.  [19] And if anyone takes words away from this book of prophecy, God will take away from him his share in the tree of life and in the holy city, which are described in this book.  [20] He who testifies to these things says, “Yes, I am coming soon.”  Amen. Come, Lord Jesus.  [21] The grace of the Lord Jesus be with God's people.  Amen.

Sin’s Origin

How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations! (Isaiah 14:12)

We believe that sin had its origin in the pre-creation angelic realm, that period of time before the creation of the universe and man when angels did exist in God’s domain. (John 8:44)

We believe that sin originated specifically in the angelic being referred to as “Morning Star” or more commonly as “Lucifer” and/or “Satan”.  (Isaiah 14:12; Ezekiel 28:12-19; Luke 10:18)

We believe that the cynical reasoning: “Since God created all things, God must have created sin.” is a misrepresentation of the facts and truth.  In God’s great love for His creation, the angelic realm and humanity, He endowed both with freewill.  They were both created as free agents with the ability to love or not love God.

We believe that Lucifer began sin through the exercise of his own free will.  God does not temp anyone to sin.  (James 1:13-15)

We believe that Sin was passed on to humanity through the same exercise of free will, this time through the free will of Adam and Eve.  (Genesis 2:15-17; 3:1-5)

Genesis 2:15-17

The Lord God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and take care of it. [16] And the Lord God commanded the man, “You are free to eat from any tree in the garden; [17] but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat of it you will surely die.”

Genesis 3:1-5

Now the serpent was more crafty than any of the wild animals the Lord God had made.  He said to the woman, “Did God really say, ‘You must not eat from any tree in the garden’?”  [2] The woman said to the serpent, “We may eat fruit from the trees in the garden, [3] but God did say, ‘You must not eat fruit from the tree that is in the middle of the garden, and you must not touch it, or you will die.’”  [4] “You will not surely die,” the serpent said to the woman. [5] “For God knows that when you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.”

Isaiah 14:12

How you have fallen from heaven, O morning star, son of the dawn!  You have been cast down to the earth, you who once laid low the nations!

Ezekiel 28:12-19

“Son of man, take up a lament concerning the king of Tyre and say to him: ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says:’”   “‘You were the model of perfection, full of wisdom and perfect in beauty.   [13] You were in Eden, the garden of God; every precious stone adorned you: ruby, topaz and emerald, chrysolite, onyx and jasper, sapphire, turquoise and beryl.  Your settings and mountings were made of gold; on the day you were created they were prepared.  [14] You were anointed as a guardian cherub, for so I ordained you.  You were on the holy mount of God; you walked among the fiery stones.  [15] You were blameless in your ways from the day you were created till wickedness was found in you.  [16] Through your widespread trade you were filled with violence, and you sinned.  So I drove you in disgrace from the mount of God, and I expelled you, O guardian cherub, from among the fiery stones.  [17] Your heart became proud on account of your beauty, and you corrupted your wisdom because of your splendor.  So I threw you to the earth; I made a spectacle of you before kings.  [18] By your many sins and dishonest trade you have desecrated your sanctuaries.  So I made a fire come out from you, and it consumed you, and I reduced you to ashes on the ground in the sight of all who were watching.  [19] All the nations who knew you are appalled at you; you have come to a horrible end and will be no more.’”

Luke 10:18

He replied, “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven.” -Jesus

John 8:44

“You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father's desire.  He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies.” -Jesus

James 1:13-15

When tempted, no one should say, “God is tempting me.”  For God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does he tempt anyone;  [14] but each one is tempted when, by his own evil desire, he is dragged away and enticed.  [15] Then, after desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, gives birth to death.

Creation

In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. (Genesis 1:1)

We believe that God, specifically Jesus Christ, created all things. (John 1:3)  More over, He created all things from nothing; He spoke creation into existence.

Concerning our universe and world, we believe in the creation account as outlined in the book of Genesis.  We believe that this creation took place in six literal (twenty-four hour) days.  We believe that God’s original creation was perfect, containing no decay, no aging, and no death. (Genesis 1:25)

We believe that any compromises of this understanding such as: Darwinian Evolution, The Gap Theory, Theistic Evolution, etc. are all Satanic deceptions and not compatible with the Bible’s factual teaching. (Romans 1:18-23)

Genesis 1:25

God made the wild animals according to their kinds, the livestock according to their kinds, and all the creatures that move along the ground according to their kinds. And God saw that it was good.

John 1:3

Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made.

Romans 1:18-23

The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of men who suppress the truth by their wickedness, [19] since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them.  [20] For since the creation of the world God's invisible qualities - his eternal power and divine nature - have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse.  [21] For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened.  [22] Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools [23] and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images made to look like mortal man and birds and animals and reptiles.

The Fall

For just as through the disobedience of the one man the many were made sinners, so also through the obedience of the one man (Jesus Christ) the many will be made righteous. (Romans 5:19)

We believe that God’s creation of the universe and the human race was perfect originally, containing no decay, no aging, and no death. (Genesis 1:25) (See: “What We Believe About…” Creation)

We believe that the introduction of sin into the human race through Adam & Eve’s disobedience caused a “fall” from perfection.  Adam & Eve began to age; the process of death began within them. (Genesis 2:16, 17)  Prior to their disobedience, they would not have aged nor died.

We believe all offspring of Adam & Eve, including you and I, are consequently born defective; our own death is at work in us starting from our conception. (Psalm 58:3)   Moreover the thinking and behaviors we are born with are rebellious, contrary to God’s will; we are born as “sinners”.

We believe that in a more intimate way, the fall created a relational separation between God and humanity; we are not born as “children” of God but rather “spiritual orphans”, influenced by Satan, the demons and driven by our own sinful desires.

We believe Adam & Eve’s rejection of God not only impacted the human race but damaged all of God’s creation; animate and inanimate.  From the galactic scale to the minutia, creation has been poisoned by sin.  This is why we see the world and humanity historically and presently filled with decay, disease, sadness, wickedness, pain and death. (Romans 5:12: James 1:15)

We state again: the fall is a direct result of the freely exercised disobedience of Adam & Eve.  (The fall was not a preordained event in some kind of supposed warped will of God.)  The “Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil” (Genesis 2:17) was not some kind of “trap” or “setup” for Adam & Eve, but rather a loving and gracious gift of means for humanity’s freedom and independence.  God desired a mutual relationship of love with humanity; humans are neither animals nor God’s pets.  The fall was never in the will of God.

Summarizing the fall, in short: sin produced death.  (Romans 5:12)

Genesis 1:25

God made the wild animals according to their kinds, the livestock according to their kinds, and all the creatures that move along the ground according to their kinds. And God saw that it was good.

Genesis 2:16, 17

And the Lord God commanded the man, “You are free to eat from any tree in the garden; [17] but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat of it you will surely die.”

Psalm 58:3

Even from birth the wicked go astray; from the womb they are wayward and speak lies.

Romans 5:12

Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in this way death came to all men, because all sinned…

James 1:15

Then, after desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, gives birth to death.

The Flood

In the six hundredth year of Noah's life, on the seventeenth day of the second month - on that day all the springs of the great deep burst forth, and the floodgates of the heavens were opened. [12] And rain fell on the earth forty days and forty nights.  (Genesis 7:11, 12)

We believe that the Biblical account of a global flood did occur. (2 Peter 3:5, 6) Furthermore, we believe the specific details regarding the flood, Noah and the ark mentioned in Genesis did occur, exactly how they are recorded.  (Genesis chapters 6 through 9)

We believe that the flood was a tumultuous event that not only destroyed life on the planet’s surface but changed the planet’s geography and atmosphere into its present condition of turmoil, e.g. separate land masses, storms, earthquakes, etc.  The earth we see today is not how it appeared when it was originally created, prior to the flood and the introduction of sin.  (Genesis 7:11, 12)

We believe that the event of the flood demonstrates God’s sovereignty over His creation and moreover, demonstrates His grace in that He allowed His creation to survive and continue on through time in spite of its wickedness.  (Genesis 6:5-8)

We believe that it should be noted that God’s promise never to flood the globe again must be balanced with the fact that in the end times our planet will be destroyed, this time by fire. God will create in its place a new earth.  (2 Peter 3:10; Revelation 21:1)

Genesis 6:5-8

The Lord saw how great man's wickedness on the earth had become, and that every inclination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil all the time.  [6] The Lord was grieved that he had made man on the earth, and his heart was filled with pain.  [7] So the Lord said, “I will wipe mankind, whom I have created, from the face of the earth - men and animals, and creatures that move along the ground, and birds of the air - for I am grieved that I have made them.”  [8] But Noah found favor in the eyes of the Lord

Genesis 7:11, 12

In the six hundredth year of Noah's life, on the seventeenth day of the second month - on that day all the springs of the great deep burst forth, and the floodgates of the heavens were opened. [12] And rain fell on the earth forty days and forty nights.

2 Peter 3:5, 6

But they deliberately forget that long ago by God's word the heavens existed and the earth was formed out of water and by water.  [6] By these waters also the world of that time was deluged and destroyed.

2 Peter 3:10

But the day of the Lord will come like a thief.  The heavens will disappear with a roar; the elements will be destroyed by fire, and the earth and everything in it will be laid bare.

Revelation 21:1

Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea.

The Dispersal

Then they (God) said, “Come, let us build ourselves a city, with a tower that reaches to the heavens, so that we may make a name for ourselves and not be scattered over the face of the whole earth.” (Genesis 11:4)

We believe that the Biblical account of the Tower of Babel occurred just how it is recorded in the Bible. (Genesis 11:1-9)  As God confounded the common speech of humanity, various and conflicting languages were now set in place.

We believe that the dispersal of humanity following the Tower of Babel drove populations to all parts of the planet.  As a result of being geographically cloistered, dominate genetic characteristics eventually defined segments of the world’s population by various physical features: skin tone, facial shapes, hair, etc.  Additionally, the dispersal and subsequent population isolations produced the various nations and cultures of the earth’s human population.

We believe that it should be stated that every human being is a direct descendant from two human beings, namely, Adam & Eve.  We are all physically related.

Genesis 11:1-9

Now the whole world had one language and a common speech.  [2] As men moved eastward, they found a plain in Shinar and settled there.  [3] They said to each other, “Come, let’s make bricks and bake them thoroughly.”  They used brick instead of stone, and tar for mortar.  [4] Then they said, “Come, let us build ourselves a city, with a tower that reaches to the heavens, so that we may make a name for ourselves and not be scattered over the face of the whole earth.” [5] But the Lord came down to see the city and the tower that the men were building.  [6] The Lord said, “If as one people speaking the same language they have begun to do this, then nothing they plan to do will be impossible for them.  [7] Come, let us go down and confuse their language so they will not understand each other.”  [8] So the Lord scattered them from there over all the earth, and they stopped building the city.  [9] That is why it was called Babel - because there the Lord confused the language of the whole world. From there the Lord scattered them over the face of the whole earth.

Angels

Praise the Lord, you his angels, you mighty ones who do his bidding, who obey his word.  (Psalm 103:20)

We believe that angels are living beings that were created by God before the creation of our world and universe.  (Nehemiah 9:6; Colossians 1:16)  They were created to serve God in a variety of capacities.  From a human perspective, they primarily serve as messengers for God.

We believe that angels are very numerous and varied in several designs: cherubim, seraphim, etc.  They can appear on the earth in their own form, human form or even in an unseen form.  Angels were not, nor do they become, human.

We believe that angels are referenced in the Bible as having a male gender; however, they are portrayed as not possessing sexuality.  Angels do not reproduce.

We believe that the population of angels is structured; there are three chief or “arch” angels mentioned in the Bible: Michael, Gabriel and Lucifer.  (Lucifer, rebelling against God, became Satan.  Other angels that joined in the rebellion became demons.)

We believe that worldly depictions of angles being two-winged creatures, female in gender or childlike are all misrepresentations.  We believe that this false imagery of angels is demonically inspired and empowered.

We believe that angels are purely servants of God; they are not to be prayed to or praised.

Nehemiah 9:6

You alone are the Lord. You made the heavens, even the highest heavens, and all their starry host, the earth and all that is on it, the seas and all that is in them. You give life to everything, and the multitudes of heaven worship you.

Isaiah 6:2

Above him were seraphs, each with six wings: With two wings they covered their faces, with two they covered their feet, and with two they were flying.

Ezekiel 1:4-12

I looked, and I saw a windstorm coming out of the north - an immense cloud with flashing lightning and surrounded by brilliant light.  The center of the fire looked like glowing metal, [5] and in the fire was what looked like four living creatures.  In appearance their form was that of a man, [6] but each of them had four faces and four wings.  [7] Their legs were straight; their feet were like those of a calf and gleamed like burnished bronze.  [8] Under their wings on their four sides they had the hands of a man.  All four of them had faces and wings, [9] and their wings touched one another.  Each one went straight ahead; they did not turn as they moved.  [10] Their faces looked like this: Each of the four had the face of a man, and on the right side each had the face of a lion, and on the left the face of an ox; each also had the face of an eagle.  [11] Such were their faces.  Their wings were spread out upward; each had two wings, one touching the wing of another creature on either side, and two wings covering its body.

Colossians 1:16

For by him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things were created by him and for him.

Revelation 4:8

Each of the four living creatures had six wings and was covered with eyes all around, even under his wings. Day and night they never stop saying: “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty, who was, and is, and is to come.”

Satan

“Get behind me, Satan!  You are a stumbling block to me; you do not have in mind the things of God, but the things of men.” –Jesus (Matthew 16:23)

We believe in the existence of a literal “devil”, namely, Satan.  He is a created being, formerly the archangel Lucifer.  Prior to the creation of our world and universe, Lucifer led a rebellion against God.  Subsequently, he and those angels that followed him were banished from God’s presence.  Lucifer’s name became: “Satan”, the other rebellious angels became demons.  (Isaiah 14:12; Ezekiel 28:12-19; Luke 10:18)

We believe that Satan and the demons currently reside on the earth as spiritual beings, unseen by human eyes.  They indwell in the atmosphere, the seas, and animals; they can indwell in humans.  This indwelling in humans varies from mere influence to outright possession.

We believe that Satan does not have limitless power.  His chief weaponry is exerting mental influence upon humanity, better known as “temptation”. (John 8:44; 2 Corinthians 11:14)

We believe that at the final judgment Satan will be cast into the Lake of Fire to be punished eternally. (Matthew 25:41; Revelation 20:14)

Isaiah 14:12

How you have fallen from heaven, O morning star, son of the dawn! You have been cast down to the earth you who once laid low the nations!

Matthew 25:41

“Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels.’”   –Jesus

Luke 10:18

He replied, “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven.” - Jesus

John 8:44

“…He (Satan) was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies.” –Jesus

2 Corinthians 11:14

…for Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light.

Revelation 20:14

Then death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire.  The lake of fire is the second death.

Demons

…Jesus healed many … He also drove out many demons… (Mark 1:34)

We believe that demons do exist.  They are the ongoing disembodied spirits of those angels who rebelled with Lucifer against God.  As with Lucifer they were banished from God’s presence.  (Isaiah 14:12; Ezekiel 28:12-19; Luke 10:18)

We believe that demons currently reside on the planet earth.  They abide in the atmosphere, the seas and in living organisms.  Some, the worst of the worst, are held in bondage until the final judgment.  (Mark 5:1-20)

We believe that it is possible for humans to communicate with demons through numerous methods.  These methods include, but are not limited to: séances, Ouija boards, tarot cards, fortune telling, horoscopes, channeling, transcendental meditation, witchcraft, Wicca, Dungeons & Dragons etc. We believe demons are also the empowerment and voices behind false gods and prophets.  (Leviticus 19:31)

We believe that the demonic population is strong (although not limitless in power), numerous and immensely evil in influence.  For these obvious reasons, the demonic realm should be properly recognized and avoided by all.  (Matthew 6:13; 1 Corinthians 10:14)

We believe that it is possible for demons to indwell within humans.  This indwelling can result in demonic influence and outright possession.  Once an individual has accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour, demons can no longer indwell within that person; however, temptation of believers by demonic sources is still a dangerous reality.  (Luke 11:24-26) (See: “What We Believe About…” Demonic Influence / Possession)

We believe that at the final judgment the entire population of demons will be cast into the Lake of Fire to be punished eternally.  (Revelation 20:14)

Leviticus 19:31

“Do not turn to mediums or seek out spiritists, for you will be defiled by them.  I am the Lord your God.”

 Isaiah 14:12

How you have fallen from heaven, O morning star, son of the dawn!  You have been cast down to the earth, you who once laid low the nations!

Ezekiel 28:11-19

The word of the Lord came to me: [12] “Son of man, take up a lament concerning the king of Tyre and say to him: ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says: “‘You were the model of perfection, full of wisdom and perfect in beauty.

Matthew 6:13

“And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.” -Jesus

Mark 5:1-13

They went across the lake to the region of the Gerasenes.  [2] When Jesus got out of the boat, a man with an evil spirit came from the tombs to meet him.  [3] This man lived in the tombs, and no one could bind him any more, not even with a chain.  [4] For he had often been chained hand and foot, but he tore the chains apart and broke the irons on his feet.  No one was strong enough to subdue him.  [5] Night and day among the tombs and in the hills he would cry out and cut himself with stones.  [6] When he saw Jesus from a distance, he ran and fell on his knees in front of him.  [7] He shouted at the top of his voice, “What do you want with me, Jesus, Son of the Most High God?  Swear to God that you won't torture me!”  [8] For Jesus had said to him, “Come out of this man, you evil spirit!”  [9] Then Jesus asked him, “What is your name?”  “My name is Legion,” he replied, “for we are many.”  [10] And he begged Jesus again and again not to send them out of the area.  [11] A large herd of pigs was feeding on the nearby hillside.  [12] The demons begged Jesus, “Send us among the pigs; allow us to go into them.”  [13] He gave them permission, and the evil spirits came out and went into the pigs.  The herd, about two thousand in number, rushed down the steep bank into the lake and were drowned.

Luke 11:24-26

“When an evil spirit comes out of a man, it goes through arid places seeking rest and does not find it.  Then it says, ‘I will return to the house I left.’  [25] When it arrives, it finds the house swept clean and put in order.  [26] Then it goes and takes seven other spirits more wicked than itself, and they go in and live there.  And the final condition of that man is worse than the first.”

Luke 10:18

He replied, “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven.” -Jesus

1 Corinthians 10:14

Therefore, my dear friends, flee from idolatry.

Revelation 20:14

Then death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire.  The lake of fire is the second death.

The Human Race

…what is man that you are mindful of him, the son of man that you care for him? (Psalm 8:4)

We believe that the entire human race is descended from two original humans: Adam & Eve.  Adam & Eve were created by God: Adam from the earth, Eve from a rib taken from Adam.  (Genesis 1:26-31; 2:1-25)

We believe that humans were created to have relationship and fellowship with God.  We are created to be intimate “friends” of God, not pets, slaves or servants.  (John 15:13-15)

We believe that humans were, and continue to be, created in two genders: male and female.  Each gender is unique; men are men, women are women.

We believe that although Adam was created prior to Eve, the two of them comprise the creation of “man”.  Adam was not complete until the creation of Eve; together they became a unit, equally valued and loved by God.  The notion of male superiority or female superiority is unbiblical; the genders are distinct in design but yet equal in God’s esteem.

We believe that there is but one physical human race: mankind.  It is genetics and geographical separations that have characterized the various skin tones, cultures and nationalities through time.

We believe that humans are a special and beloved creation of God.  We are not animals; we are unique from all of the rest of God’s creations. (Job 7:17)

We believe that God created humans in “His own image”.  By this we understand our design to be triune in nature: a body, a soul and a spirit.  (Genesis 1:27)

We believe that the body is the tangible physical nature of our being: flesh, bones, blood, etc.

We believe that the soul is an invisible host of our spirit.  It serves as a vessel of sorts for the essence of life within us.  The soul is eternally empowered by God.

We believe that the spirit is the component of our being that comprises our: personal self awareness, personality, thinking, imagination, intellect, memory, etc.

We believe that human life begins at the moment of conception.  The procreation process involves humans providing the bodily elements and God providing the spiritual elements (soul and spirit) to human offspring.

We believe that humans are created immortal, which is to say, possessing everlasting souls and spirits empowered by God.  When we die on this planet, our bodies return to the earth.  The souls and spirits of the saved of earth go to be with God; those who die unsaved go to await judgment.  At the resurrection the saved receive new perfected bodies; the unsaved receive their old deformed, diseased and decrepit bodies back.

We believe that it is vital to restate: humans are a unique creation by God and are also uniquely loved by God.  (Jeremiah 31:3; Isaiah 49:15, 16)

Genesis 1:27

So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.

 Genesis 1:26-31

Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, in our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, over all the earth, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.”  [27] So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them. [28] God blessed them and said to them, ‘Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it.  Rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air and over every living creature that moves on the ground.’”  [29] Then God said, “I give you every seed-bearing plant on the face of the whole earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it.  They will be yours for food.  [30] And to all the beasts of the earth and all the birds of the air and all the creatures that move on the ground - everything that has the breath of life in it - I give every green plant for food.” And it was so.  [31] God saw all that he had made, and it was very good. And there was evening, and there was morning - the sixth day.

Genesis 2:1-25

Thus the heavens and the earth were completed in all their vast array.  [2] By the seventh day God had finished the work he had been doing; so on the seventh day he rested from all his work. [3] And God blessed the seventh day and made it holy, because on it he rested from all the work of creating that he had done.  [4] This is the account of the heavens and the earth when they were created.

When the Lord God made the earth and the heavens- [5] and no shrub of the field had yet appeared on the earth and no plant of the field had yet sprung up, for the Lord God had not sent rain on the earth and there was no man to work the ground, [6] but streams came up from the earth and watered the whole surface of the ground- [7] the Lord God formed the man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being.

[8] Now the Lord God had planted a garden in the east, in Eden; and there he put the man he had formed. [9] And the Lord God made all kinds of trees grow out of the ground - trees that were pleasing to the eye and good for food.  In the middle of the garden were the tree of life and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.

[10] A river watering the garden flowed from Eden; from there it was separated into four headwaters. [11] The name of the first is the Pishon; it winds through the entire land of Havilah, where there is gold.  [12] (The gold of that land is good; aromatic resin and onyx are also there.) [13] The name of the second river is the Gihon; it winds through the entire land of Cush. [14] The name of the third river is the Tigris; it runs along the east side of Asshur. And the fourth river is the Euphrates.

[15] The Lord God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and take care of it. [16] And the Lord God commanded the man, “You are free to eat from any tree in the garden; [17] but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat of it you will surely die.”

[18] The Lord God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him.”  [19] Now the Lord God had formed out of the ground all the beasts of the field and all the birds of the air.  He brought them to the man to see what he would name them; and whatever the man called each living creature, that was its name.  [20] So the man gave names to all the livestock, the birds of the air and all the beasts of the field.

But for Adam no suitable helper was found.  [21] So the Lord God caused the man to fall into a deep sleep; and while he was sleeping, he took one of the man's ribs and closed up the place with flesh.  [22] Then the Lord God made a woman from the rib he had taken out of the man, and he brought her to the man.

[23] The man said, “This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called ‘woman,’ for she was taken out of man.”  [24] For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and they will become one flesh.  [25] The man and his wife were both naked, and they felt no shame.

Job 7:17

“What is man that you make so much of him, that you give him so much attention?”

Isaiah 49:15, 16

“Can a mother forget the baby at her breast and have no compassion on the child she has borne?  Though she may forget, I will not forget you!  [16] See, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands; your walls are ever before me.” -God

 Jeremiah 31:3

The Lord appeared to us in the past, saying: “I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with loving-kindness.”

 John 15:13-15

“Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends.  [14] You are my friends if you do what I command.  [15] I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master's business.  Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you.” -Jesus

Israel – The Jewish People

God said to him, “Your name is Jacob, but you will no longer be called Jacob; your name will be Israel.” So he named him Israel. (Genesis 35:10)

We believe that God called the nation of Israel into existence for the express purpose of serving Him.  We believe they were “chosen” as a matter of God’s prerogative, not because they were better than anyone else or because they possessed some other particular virtue.  (Micah 6:4; John 15:16)

We believe that, moreover, the Jewish people were called specifically as an evangelistic group with the ultimate goal of winning all of the world’s population back to God.

We believe that God used the Jewish people to communicate the law, prophecies and God’s plan of salvation through Jesus Christ to the entire world.

We believe that the mission of the Jewish people was completed through the earthly ministry of Jesus Christ.  Jesus was the fulfillment of the offices of priest, prophet and king.

We believe that God’s covenants (agreements) with Israel are still intact, in spite of Israel’s lack of spirituality. (Genesis 12:1-3)  These covenants are with the body of Israel, not necessarily with each individual Jewish person.

We believe that the current nation of Israel is being preserved to serve God as an evangelistic platform once again; this time in the closing chapter of this earth.  Following the rapture of the Christian Church from this planet, God will ordain and seal 144,000 of the Jewish people.  Their purpose will be to serve again as an evangelistic force in the successive seven years of tribulation upon the earth.  (Revelation 7:4-8)

We believe that the Jews of today have the same spiritual challenge as all people do: to accept Jesus Christ as one’s personal Lord and Saviour.  Apart from Jesus Christ, there is no salvation for Jews and non-Jews alike.

Genesis 12:1-3

The Lord had said to Abram, “Leave your country, your people and your father's household and go to the land I will show you.”  [2] “I will make you into a great nation and I will bless you; I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing.  [3] I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you.”

 Micah 6:4

“I brought you up out of Egypt and redeemed you from the land of slavery.  I sent Moses to lead you, also Aaron and Miriam.”

John 15:16

“You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit - fruit that will last.  Then the Father will give you whatever you ask in my name.” -Jesus

Revelation 7:4-8

Then I heard the number of those who were sealed: 144,000 from all the tribes of Israel.  [5] From the tribe of Judah 12,000 were sealed, from the tribe of Reuben 12,000, from the tribe of Gad 12,000, [6] from the tribe of Asher 12,000, from the tribe of Naphtali 12,000, from the tribe of Manasseh 12,000, [7] from the tribe of Simeon 12,000, from the tribe of Levi 12,000, from the tribe of  Issachar 12,000, [8] from the tribe of Zebulun 12,000, from the tribe of Joseph 12,000, from the tribe of Benjamin 12,000.

Prophecy

Above all, you must understand that no prophecy of Scripture came about by the prophet's own interpretation. [21] For prophecy never had its origin in the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit. (2 Peter 1:20, 21)

We believe that God has purposely revealed the future to mankind through writings penned down by prophets.  These prophesies are inspired by God; that is to say, they originated with God. The prophet simply served as a secretary of sorts for God’s communications to humanity.  (2 Peter 1:20, 21)

We believe that the prophecies contained in the Old and New Testaments are regarding events that have taken place already and events that have yet to take place.  We believe the events that were foretold include events that took place by way of man’s free will and by way of God’s direct intervention in the affairs of the earth.  Additionally, some prophecies warned of events that would occur, others warned of events that could occur.

We believe that Jesus Christ, being God in the flesh, was the very author of all of the prophecies that were given to humanity; He was and is the prophet of prophets.

We believe that Jesus Christ was the last earthly prophet.  The prophecies that are recorded in the book of Revelation are actually those of Jesus Christ, not John.  (Revelation 1:1, 2)

We believe that the gift of prophecy mentioned in the New Testament is a gift of telling forth information that has already been revealed, not revelations of new information. (1 Corinthians 14:1)

We believe that Biblical prophecy is complete; any and all claims of some new revelation, whether in the context of Christianity or not are false prophecies.  We believe false prophecy is inspired by man’s own sinful nature and the demonic realm. False prophecy includes practices such as astrology, horoscopes and fortune telling; false prophets include people such as Nostradamus, Jean Dixon and all other psychics.   (Jeremiah 27:14; Ezekiel 13:2; Matthew 7:15)

Jeremiah 27:14

Do not listen to the words of the prophets who say to you, ‘You will not serve the king of Babylon,’ for they are prophesying lies to you.

Ezekiel 13:2

“Son of man, prophesy against the prophets of Israel who are now prophesying.  Say to those who prophesy out of their own imagination: ‘Hear the word of the Lord!’”

Matthew 7:15

“Watch out for false prophets.  They come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves.” -Jesus

1 Corinthians 14:1

Follow the way of love and eagerly desire spiritual gifts, especially the gift of prophecy.

2 Peter 1:20, 21

Above all, you must understand that no prophecy of Scripture came about by the prophet's own interpretation.  [21] For prophecy never had its origin in the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.

Revelation 1:1, 2

The revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave him to show his servants what must soon take place. He made it known by sending his angel to his servant John, [2] who testifies to everything he saw--that is, the word of God and the testimony of Jesus Christ.

The End Times

The end of all things is near.  Therefore be clear minded and self-controlled so that you can pray.  (1 Peter 4:7)

We believe that God has revealed our current times and our not too distant future, in the Bible.  We believe these coming events are inevitable, not mere possibilities. (Matthew 24:42)  The following statements are a brief synopsis of our beliefs regarding the end times.

We believe that the next significant event in the end times will be the sudden physical “rapture” (taking away) of the Church from the earth.  By the term “Church” we mean exclusively those individuals who have become born again by accepting Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Saviour, and are living obediently in Him.  (The rapture should not be confused with the bodily return of Jesus Christ to earth.)  (1 Thessalonians 4:13-18)

We believe that following the rapture, the earth will be plunged into seven years of tribulation, a time of one world rule by the Anti-Christ and the False Prophet.    The Anti-Christ will be a world political leader; the False Prophet will be a religious leader over a global “church”.  In this new world order people will be required to receive the mark of the beast: “666”.  (Revelation 13:11-18)  Those who receive the mark of the beast will be destined for eternal damnation. (Revelation 14:11)  Those who refuse the mark will be executed by those in the one world system.

We believe that the seven years of tribulation will culminate with the Battle of Armageddon.  This battle is a land battle against Israel by all of the earth’s armies.  (Revelation 16:16)

We believe that Jesus Christ will return bodily at the Battle of Armageddon to destroy the armies of the world, rescue the nation of Israel and establish an earthly peace.  (Revelation 19:11-21)

We believe that a period of 1000 years of peace, the Millennium, will follow Christ’s return to the earth.  (Revelation 20:4-6)

We believe that following the Millennium, the current planet earth will be destroyed by God.  In its place God will create a new and perfected earth.  God will also present “Heaven” (a.k.a. The New Jerusalem, Zion, The Holy City, etc.) a massive jeweled city.  (2 Peter 3:10; Revelation 21:1 - 21)

We believe that following the Millennium, a great and final judgment will occur.  All of the world’s population from Adam to the last man or woman born will stand before Jesus Christ.  All of those who became born again and accepted Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Saviour while on the earth will be saved.  Those who rejected or ignored God’s offer of salvation while on the earth will be lost eternally.

We believe that the saved will inherit heaven and the new earth for all eternity.  The lost will be cast into the lake of fire and suffer its torment for all eternity.  (This lake will be banished from the presence of the saved.)  (Revelation 20:7-15)

Matthew 24:42

“Therefore keep watch, because you do not know on what day your Lord will come.” -Jesus

1 Thessalonians 4:13-18

Brothers, we do not want you to be ignorant about those who fall asleep, or to grieve like the rest of men, who have no hope.  [14] We believe that Jesus died and rose again and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him.  [15] According to the Lord's own word, we tell you that we who are still alive, who are left till the coming of the Lord, will certainly not precede those who have fallen asleep.  [16] For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first.  [17] After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air.  And so we will be with the Lord forever.  [18] Therefore encourage each other with these words.

2 Peter 3:10

But the day of the Lord will come like a thief.  The heavens will disappear with a roar; the elements will be destroyed by fire, and the earth and everything in it will be laid bare.

 Revelation 13:11-18

Then I saw another beast, coming out of the earth.  He had two horns like a lamb, but he spoke like a dragon.  [12] He exercised all the authority of the first beast on his behalf, and made the earth and its inhabitants worship the first beast, whose fatal wound had been healed.  [13] And he performed great and miraculous signs, even causing fire to come down from heaven to earth in full view of men.  [14] Because of the signs he was given power to do on behalf of the first beast, he deceived the inhabitants of the earth.  He ordered them to set up an image in honor of the beast who was wounded by the sword and yet lived.  [15] He was given power to give breath to the image of the first beast, so that it could speak and cause all who refused to worship the image to be killed.  [16] He also forced everyone, small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on his right hand or on his forehead, [17] so that no one could buy or sell unless he had the mark, which is the name of the beast or the number of his name.  [18] This calls for wisdom. If anyone has insight, let him calculate the number of the beast, for it is man's number. His number is 666.

 Revelation 14:11

“And the smoke of their torment rises for ever and ever.  There is no rest day or night for those who worship the beast and his image, or for anyone who receives the mark of his name.”

 Revelation 16:16

Then they gathered the kings together to the place that in Hebrew is called Armageddon.

Revelation 19:11-21

[11] I saw heaven standing open and there before me was a white horse, whose rider is called Faithful and True.  With justice he judges and makes war.  [12] His eyes are like blazing fire, and on his head are many crowns.  He has a name written on him that no one knows but he himself. [13] He is dressed in a robe dipped in blood, and his name is the Word of God.  [14] The armies of heaven were following him, riding on white horses and dressed in fine linen, white and clean. [15] Out of his mouth comes a sharp sword with which to strike down the nations.  “He will rule them with an iron scepter.”  He treads the winepress of the fury of the wrath of God Almighty. [16] On his robe and on his thigh he has this name written: king of kings and lord of lords.  [17] And I saw an angel standing in the sun, who cried in a loud voice to all the birds flying in midair, “Come, gather together for the great supper of God, [18] so that you may eat the flesh of kings, generals, and mighty men, of horses and their riders, and the flesh of all people, free and slave, small and great.”  [19] Then I saw the beast and the kings of the earth and their armies gathered together to make war against the rider on the horse and his army.  [20] But the beast was captured, and with him the false prophet who had performed the miraculous signs on his behalf. With these signs he had deluded those who had received the mark of the beast and worshiped his image.  The two of them were thrown alive into the fiery lake of burning sulfur.  [21] The rest of them were killed with the sword that came out of the mouth of the rider on the horse, and all the birds gorged themselves on their flesh.

 Revelation 20:4-6

I saw thrones on which were seated those who had been given authority to judge.  And I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded because of their testimony for Jesus and because of the word of God.  They had not worshiped the beast or his image and had not received his mark on their foreheads or their hands.  They came to life and reigned with Christ a thousand years.  [5] (The rest of the dead did not come to life until the thousand years were ended.) This is the first resurrection.  [6] Blessed and holy are those who have part in the first resurrection.  The second death has no power over them, but they will be priests of God and of Christ and will reign with him for a thousand years.

 Revelation 20:7-15

When the thousand years are over, Satan will be released from his prison [8] and will go out to deceive the nations in the four corners of the earth - Gog and Magog - to gather them for battle.  In number they are like the sand on the seashore.  [9] They marched across the breadth of the earth and surrounded the camp of God's people, the city he loves.  But fire came down from heaven and devoured them.  [10] And the devil, who deceived them, was thrown into the lake of burning sulfur, where the beast and the false prophet had been thrown.  They will be tormented day and night for ever and ever.  [11] Then I saw a great white throne and him who was seated on it. Earth and sky fled from his presence, and there was no place for them.  [12] And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Another book was opened, which is the book of life.  The dead were judged according to what they had done as recorded in the books.  [13] The sea gave up the dead that were in it, and death and Hades gave up the dead that were in them, and each person was judged according to what he had done.  [14] Then death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire.  The lake of fire is the second death. [15] If anyone's name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.

 Revelation 21:10-21

And he carried me away in the Spirit to a mountain great and high, and showed me the Holy City, Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God.  [11] It shone with the glory of God, and its brilliance was like that of a very precious jewel, like a jasper, clear as crystal.  [12] It had a great, high wall with twelve gates, and with twelve angels at the gates.  On the gates were written the names of the twelve tribes of Israel.  [13] There were three gates on the east, three on the north, three on the south and three on the west.  [14] The wall of the city had twelve foundations, and on them were the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.  [15] The angel who talked with me had a measuring rod of gold to measure the city, its gates and its walls.  [16] The city was laid out like a square, as long as it was wide.  He measured the city with the rod and found it to be 12,000 stadia in length, and as wide and high as it is long. [17] He measured its wall and it was 144 cubits thick, by man's measurement, which the angel was using.  [18] The wall was made of jasper, and the city of pure gold, as pure as glass.  [19] The foundations of the city walls were decorated with every kind of precious stone.  The first foundation was jasper, the second sapphire, the third chalcedony, the fourth emerald, [20] the fifth sardonyx, the sixth carnelian, the seventh chrysolite, the eighth beryl, the ninth topaz, the tenth chrysoprase, the eleventh jacinth, and the twelfth amethyst.  [21] The twelve gates were twelve pearls, each gate made of a single pearl.  The great street of the city was of pure gold, like transparent glass.

The End of This World

The world and its desires pass away, but the man who does the will of God lives forever. (1 John 2:17)

We believe our current planet earth will not continue on for time and eternity.  We believe God (not man) will destroy this planet by the means of fire.  (2 Peter 3:10-13)  Eventually, the Sun, the Moon and all of the stars will also be no more. (Revelation 21:23)

We believe later, in its place, God will create a new Earth.  The new Earth will be one that is perfect, free from sin, disease, decay and death.  Heaven will also be in the abode of the new Earth.  (Revelation 21:1-4; 22:5) (See: "What We Believe About..." The End Times and The New Earth)

2 Peter 3:10-13

But the day of the Lord will come like a thief.  The heavens will disappear with a roar; the elements will be destroyed by fire, and the earth and everything in it will be laid bare.  [11] Since everything will be destroyed in this way, what kind of people ought you to be?  You ought to live holy and godly lives [12] as you look forward to the day of God and speed its coming.  That day will bring about the destruction of the heavens by fire, and the elements will melt in the heat. [13] But in keeping with his promise we are looking forward to a new heaven and a new earth, the home of righteousness.

Revelation 21:1-4

Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea.  [2] I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband.  [3] And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, "Now the dwelling of God is with men, and he will live with them.  They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. [4] He will wipe every tear from their eyes.  There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away."

 Revelation 21:23-25

The city does not need the sun or the moon to shine on it, for the glory of God gives it light, and the Lamb is its lamp.  [24] The nations will walk by its light, and the kings of the earth will bring their splendor into it.  [25] On no day will its gates ever be shut, for there will be no night there.

 Revelation 22:5

There will be no more night.  They will not need the light of a lamp or the light of the sun, for the Lord God will give them light.  And they will reign for ever and ever.

The New Earth

“Behold, I will create new heavens and a new earth. The former things will not be remembered, nor will they come to mind.” (Isaiah 65:17)

We believe that God will create a new earth; one that is perfect, free from sin, disease, decay and death.  Heaven, a massive jeweled city, will also be in the abode of the new earth.  (Revelation 21:1-4; 22:5)

We believe that the new earth (and Heaven) will be revealed following the final judgment.  It will be part of the paradise that is being created for the saved of earth; those who have become born again,  love God obediently and have accepted Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Saviour.  (1 Corinthians 2:9; 2 Peter 3:13)

1 Corinthians 2:9

However, as it is written: “No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love him”-

 2 Peter 3:13

But in keeping with his promise we are looking forward to a new heaven and a new earth, the home of righteousness.

[3] And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Now the dwelling of God is with men, and he will live with them.  They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. [4] He will wipe every tear from their eyes.  There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passe

Revelation 22:5

There will be no more night.  They will not need the light of a lamp or the light of the sun, for the Lord God will give them light.  And they will reign for ever and ever.

Heaven

“No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love him.” (1 Corinthians 2:9)

We believe that Heaven is actually a massive jeweled city that is currently being prepared by God.  It will be revealed at the end of God’s great judgment of mankind. (John 14:2)

We believe that Heaven will be occupied by those who accepted Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Saviour, and lived obediently to God while upon the earth.

We believe that Heaven is adequately described in Revelation chapters twenty-one and twenty-two.  It is a square city, measuring approximately 1400 miles in length, width and height.  Its walls are made of jasper; the city and streets are made of pure gold.   It sits upon a twelve tiered base of precious stones.  Each of its four walls contains three gates, each made of a giant pearl.

We believe that Heaven will co-exist with a new Earth.  (How the two will exist in relationship with each other is not revealed; is the city of Heaven on the Earth, near the Earth?)

We believe that the Heaven (and the new Earth) is a place where sin, disease, decay and death will be no more.  There will be no more sorrow, pain or crying.  We will be perfect.  We will not age as we do on Earth.  There will be no remembrance of the old Earth or anything evil. (Revelation 21:4)

We believe that the human concepts of Heaven that include landscapes of puffy white clouds, people with wings carrying harps and Peter at a gate, etc. are all un-Biblical and demonically inspired.

We believe that it should be noted that this Heaven is not the place where believers in Jesus Christ go to now when they die.  Those who have obediently accepted God’s salvation and die in this age are brought to be with the Lord in His dwelling place.  There they enjoy God’s hospitality while awaiting the conclusion of God’s judgment of the peoples of the Earth.  Once these judgments are complete, God will reveal the new Heaven and new Earth for those who have been saved.  (1 Corinthians 2:9)

We believe that it should be stated that Heaven will be massive enough to contain the whole of Earth’s historic population; sadly, many will miss its splendor by ignoring or rejecting God’s gracious offer and invitation of salvation.

John 14:2

“In my Father's house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you.” -Jesus

1 Corinthians 2:9

However, as it is written: “No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love him-

Revelation 21:4

“He will wipe every tear from their eyes.  There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.”

Hell

“There will be weeping there, and gnashing of teeth, when you see Abraham, Isaac and Jacob and all the prophets in the kingdom of God, but you yourselves thrown out.” -Jesus (Luke 13:28)

We believe in the existence of a literal Hell.  We believe that Hell is a real place in space and time.  Hell is not:  annihilation, a frozen state of unconsciousness, another dimension of time and/or space or a return life here on earth.

We believe that Hell was prepared by God as a place of containment for Satan and the rest of the demons.  It should be noted that Hell was never originally intended for humans.  (Matthew 25:41)

We believe that Hell is also a place of solitary confinement for the spirits and souls of those humans who die outside of God’s salvation.  There they await the final sentence of eternal punishment and separation from God and all others.  Hell is a painfully lonely experience; there is no fellowship in Hell.  In Hell your unsaved “friends” will be there, but you won’t see them or be with them.

We believe that Hell’s exact location is not revealed in the Bible.  It is possible that it is within the bowels of the earth or perhaps at some other location of God’s own choosing and design.

We believe that Hell is a place of great emotional and physical discomfort; it is described as being very hot. (Luke 16:23)  Hell is a place of utter: terror, pain, abandonment, loneliness and hopelessness.  It should be noted that there is no company or fellowship in Hell.

We believe that the following Biblical titles for Hell help illustrate its terror: a lake of fire (Revelation 20:15), a bottomless pit (Revelation 20:1), a horrible tempest (Psalm 11:6), a place of everlasting burnings (Isaiah 33:14), a furnace of fire (Matthew 13:41, 42), a devouring fire (Isaiah 33:14), a place of torments (Luke 16:23), a place of everlasting punishment (Matthew 25:46), a place where people pray (Luke 16:27), a place where people cry for mercy (Luke 16:24), a place where people wail (Matthew 13:42), a place where people curse god (Revelation 16:11), a place where people never repent (Matthew 12:32), a place of filthiness (Revelation 22:10, 11), a place of weeping (Matthew 8:12), a place of sorrows (Psalm 18:5), a place of outer darkness (Matthew 8:12), a place where people have no rest (Revelation 14:11), a place where people gnaw their tongues (Revelation 16:10), a place where their worm dieth not and the fire is not quenched (Mark 9:48), a place where people are tormented with brimstone (Revelation 14:10), a place from which the smoke of their torment ascendeth up forever (Revelation 14:11), a place where people do not want their loved ones to come (Luke 16:28), a place of utter abandonment (Matthew 27:26).

We believe that in the end, the entire population of hell, all of the demons and Satan will be cast into the “Lake of Fire”.  Although banished from the presence of God and the saved, this lake will continue on for time and eternity; there is no escape from it.  Its population will burn for all eternity and yet not be consumed.

We believe that it should be stated that there is no other alternative for those who die outside of God’s salvation; the concept of a neutral or purification realm are false.  Catholicism’s “Purgatory” does not exist.  All concepts of a middle ground between Heaven and Hell are demonically inspired and empowered for the purpose of deceiving whole multitudes of people.

We believe that it should always be reaffirmed: God desires that no one should go to hell.  Jesus Christ paid the bail, so to speak, for every individual to escape the horror of final judgment and Hell.  The full measure of God’s wrath and abandonment for all of humanity was borne by Jesus Christ, Himself while being crucified upon the cross.   God does not send people to Hell; people through their own sinfulness, self-centeredness and indifference needlessly direct themselves to Hell. (John 3:16-21)

Matthew 25:41

“Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels.’” -Jesus

Luke 16:23

“In hell, where he was in torment, he looked up and saw Abraham far away, with Lazarus by his side.” -Jesus

John 3:16-21

“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.  [17] For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.  [18] Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God's one and only Son.  [19] This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but men loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil.  [20] Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that his deeds will be exposed.  [21] But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what he has done has been done through God.” -Jesus

We believe that regardless of whether one who has offended someone repents or not, the offended person must still be willing and prepared to forgive them, should they repent and seek forgiveness.  (2 Chronicles 7:14; Psalm 81:13, 14)

We believe that forgiveness is akin to the letting go of a debt; moreover, in its completeness, the act of forgiveness calls for even the remembrance of one’s sins to be let go.  (Hebrews 8:12)

Leviticus 5:5, 6

“When anyone is guilty in any of these ways, he must confess in what way he has sinned [6] and, as a penalty for the sin he has committed, he must bring to the Lord a female lamb or goat from the flock as a sin offering; and the priest shall make atonement for him for his sin.”

2 Chronicles 7:14

…if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.

Psalm 38:18

I confess my iniquity; I am troubled by my sin.

Psalm 81:13, 14

“If my people would but listen to me, if Israel would follow my ways, [14] how quickly would I subdue their enemies and turn my hand against their foes!”

Matthew 6:14

“For if you forgive men when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.” -Jesus

Luke 11:4

“Forgive us our sins, for we also forgive everyone who sins against us.  And lead us not into temptation.” -Jesus

Luke 15:18

“‘I will set out and go back to my father and say to him: Father, I have sinned against heaven and against you.’” -Jesus

 John 20:23

“If you forgive anyone his sins, they are forgiven; if you do not forgive them, they are not forgiven.” –Jesus

 Romans 10:9

That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

 Colossians 3:13

Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.

Hebrews 8:12

“For I will forgive their wickedness and will remember their sins no more.”

The triquetra (from the Latin word for “three- cornered”) is an ancient symbol for the Trinity. It comprises three interwoven arcs, distinct yet equal and inseparable.  It symbolizes that the Father, Son and Holy Spirit are three distinct yet equal "persons" and are indivisibly one God.t

This ancient illustration goes further than the triquetra by emphasizing the distinction between the three “persons” of the Trinity.   The Son is God; however He is not the Father; the Father is God; however He is not the Spirit, etc.
